You guys! We made a record!!! It's called "Songs for this Old Heart," and we can't wait for you to hear it!
Come celebrate with us on Saturday, November 18th at Solly's on U Street/11th. $5 gets you in at the door or $10 gets you in *and* puts a copy of our new record in your hand :) The night will feature guests and surprises, and a full set of By & By's arms-wide-open brand of Americana and bluegrass.
All families are invited to join the National Portrait Gallery, Blue Star Families, and military veterans and their families in a day that celebrates heroes big and small! We're honoring the brave people who take care of us on the battlefront, as well as the brave men, women, and children who take care of them on the home front. Take part in art activities for all ages, including performances by bluegrass band By and By, and learn about American history with museum tours from emeritus historian David C. Ward.
This program is in celebration of the Portrait Gallery's exhibition The Face of Battle: Americans at War, 9/11 to Now, and is presented in partnership with Blue Star Families.

We've had some many great shows at Gypsy Sally's and take the chance to play there every chance we get. This time we'll be returning as one of the headlining acts on the main stage, sharing the bill with our friends from Poolesville, the futuregrass allstars Seneca! Tickets are $8 at the door, and a steal at twice the price ;)
Doors @ 7pm, Show @ 8pm
Hope to see you!
Sponsored by the Reston Community Center, this is a free, all-ages show on what is certain to be a fun and steamy Friday night! We are always thrilled to be playing in NoVa communities and have been looking forward to this one for a long time. By & By will be taking the stage at 7:00pm, so come on out!
We consider Mr. Henry's our home. We took a monthly residence there starting in 2014 and have gained a really great following from the amazingly supportive community. Mr. Henry's is an historic site for musicians (Ms. Roberta Flack got her start there), and we're honored to be a part of it. There's no cover charge, the food is awesome, and the drinks are reasonably priced (really), so hop on over! We'll be upstairs :)

By & By, “your friendly neighborhood bluegrass band,” brings to roots music — and original material in the bluegrass tradition — “a powerful lead singer, mesmerizing harmonies, and instrumental arrangements tight enough to bounce a nickel on.” The six-piece band has earned seven Wammie nominations; first place in the Mid-Atlantic Bluegrass Band Competition in 2011; and second place in the Watermelon Park Band Competition in 2012. They have also performed at the Kennedy Center and headlined at the Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival.
On Sunday, May 15, enjoy live bluegrass music, sip bourbon on the verandah, play lawn games, and savor the springtime grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home at our second annual Bourbon and Bluegrass event!
